This flat New Image™ FlexWear® barrier combines erosion-resistant extended-wear hydrocolloid with a protective tape border and extra-large cut-to-fit range (up to 4″)—ideal for larger stomas or situations requiring maximum customization.

    • Why Choose Hollister New Image FlexWear Barrier with Tape Border 3-1/2" Cut-to-Fit

The 3-1/2 inch flange is the largest standard coupling size in the Hollister New Image 2-piece range — it is selected when the user's stoma or peristomal anatomy requires more barrier surface coverage than the smaller 1-3/4 inch or 2-1/4 inch flange formats provide. This is relevant for users with larger body habitus where the available peristomal skin coverage area is wider and a larger flange provides more stable adhesive contact, or for users with larger stomas approaching the upper end of cut-to-fit diameter ranges where a larger flange is necessary to accommodate the stoma size and maintain adequate seal margin between the stoma edge and the flange perimeter. The tape border provides peripheral edge adhesion beyond the barrier's own adhesive, reducing the edge lifting that occurs during movement and activity at this larger flange diameter — a larger flange has more perimeter exposed to lifting forces, making tape border reinforcement proportionally more valuable than on smaller flanges. FlexWear standard-wear adhesive is appropriate for users where extended-wear Flextend performance is not required. Cut-to-fit allows precise aperture sizing to the individual stoma measurement. 5 per box. Confirm pouch compatibility with the 3-1/2 inch New Image flange before ordering.

      Key Features

✔ 3-1/2 inch flange — largest standard New Image coupling for larger stoma and body profiles

✔ Tape border for peripheral edge security across the larger flange perimeter

✔ Cut-to-fit opening for precise aperture sizing to individual stoma measurement

✔ FlexWear standard-wear adhesive for everyday skin protection

✔ Flat barrier for well-protruding stomas on flat peristomal skin

✔ 5 per box — confirm pouch compatibility with 3-1/2 inch flange before ordering

      Benefits

✔ 3-1/2 inch flange provides stable adhesive coverage for larger stoma and abdominal profiles

✔ Tape border reinforcement reduces edge lifting across the larger perimeter diameter

✔ Cut-to-fit allows precise sizing for stoma diameters within the 3-1/2 inch flange range

✔ 2-piece system allows pouch changes while barrier remains in place

✔ FlexWear standard performance for users where extended-wear is not required

      Clinical & Typical Applications

✔ Larger stoma sizes or larger body habitus requiring 3-1/2 inch flange coverage

✔ New Image 2-piece users at 3-1/2 inch flange requiring standard-wear flat barrier

✔ Users where tape border reduces peripheral lifting on larger diameter flanges

✔ Cut-to-fit aperture sizing for stomas within the larger flange range

✔ Users transitioning from smaller flange sizes due to stoma or anatomy changes

      Usage & Care

Confirm stoma measurement before cutting — aperture no more than 3mm larger than stoma diameter. Confirm pouch compatibility with the 3-1/2 inch flange before ordering. Apply to clean, dry peristomal skin and press firmly from the stoma outward, including full tape border edges for complete edge adhesion. Attach compatible 3-1/2 inch New Image pouch. Change every 2–4 days or when lifting, leaking, or skin changes are observed. Consult a stoma care nurse for wear-time guidance.
