This catheter is built for routine indwelling urinary drainage at the larger 18Fr calibre and 10/Bx case-pack level when a clinician has directed a 18Fr 2-way Foley with a 5ml retention balloon — typical for post-surgical recovery, acute retention, ward catheter management, and routine indwelling drainage where 16Fr doesn't provide adequate flow capacity or where the user's anatomy clinically requires the larger 18Fr calibre. Covidien Dover is Medtronic's (formerly Covidien) Foley catheter product line — a well-established clinical Foley range used in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home care across North America. The silicone-coated latex construction is a critical specification: the catheter shaft is latex with a silicone coating applied over it — the coating reduces protein adsorption, friction, and direct latex contact with the urethral mucosa, but the underlying material is still latex. This is clinically distinct from 100% silicone catheters (latex-free throughout) — confirm latex-allergy status on the user and the SKU warning labelling before use. The 18Fr French size is the larger adult indwelling calibre — useful when output viscosity, blood, clots, or sediment in the urine would obstruct smaller lumens, or when clinically directed for the user's anatomy. The 5ml balloon is the standard routine retention balloon volume. The 10/Bx case format supports routine clinical and facility Foley resupply at the 18Fr level. Medtronic/Covidien is a global medical device manufacturer with broad clinical distribution.

✔ Silicone coating reduces protein adsorption, friction, and direct latex contact with the urethral mucosa during the indwelling wear period
✔ Coating reduces direct latex contact but does NOT make the catheter latex-free

✔ NOT for latex-allergic patients — silicone-coated latex still contains latex and is contraindicated for latex allergy
✔ Routine 2-way Foley scenarios — not for continuous bladder irrigation (3-way Foley required)
✔ Clinical and facility supply for routine Foley resupply at the 10 ct case level
✔ Specialist clinical direction by urology, urgent care, or continence care providers

Very welcoming and informative. We went in to rent a Walker for my mom to see if she would use it. They had no rentals left so he gave us a brand new one on rental. Highly recommend this company for all your ADL needs.
