Bi-directional perforations allow gloved hands to tear straight lines for fast, precise application without scissors, while transparent film provides continuous site visibility.

    • Why Bi-Directional Perforations for Clinical Efficiency

Traditional medical tapes require scissors for clean cuts, slowing down dressing changes and creating infection control challenges when clinicians must handle sharp tools mid-procedure. Transpore's engineered perforation pattern runs both lengthwise and crosswise through the backing, enabling controlled hand-tearing in any direction—even with gloved hands. This eliminates the need to search for scissors, reduces contamination risk from shared cutting tools, and speeds up securing IV lines, dressings, and drainage tubes. The transparent polyethylene film lets clinicians monitor insertion sites, wound beds, and skin reactions without peeling back the tape, reducing unnecessary disturbance to healing tissues.

      Key Features

      • Bi-directional perforations: tear cleanly by hand lengthwise or crosswise without scissors
      • Transparent polyethylene film: clear visibility of skin, wounds, and catheter insertion sites
      • Hypoallergenic adhesive: gentle, latex-free formula suitable for sensitive skin
      • Conformable backing: flexes with body contours and joint movement
      • Moisture-resistant construction: maintains adhesion in humid environments
      • 1 in x 10 yd roll: versatile width for securing tubes, dressings, and devices
      • Non-sterile single roll: convenient for repeated clinical use

      Benefits

      • Faster application: no time wasted locating scissors during urgent procedures
      • Continuous monitoring: transparent design eliminates need to remove tape for site checks
      • Reduced skin trauma: gentle adhesive peels away smoothly without stripping skin
      • Reliable hold: stays secure through patient movement, perspiration, and routine care
      • Versatile securing: adheres firmly to skin, gauze, plastic tubing, and medical devices
      • Infection control: eliminates shared scissors as potential contamination vector

      Clinical Applications

IV line securement: transparent monitoring of insertion sites for phlebitis or infiltration
Wound dressings: holds gauze pads and non-adherent dressings without obscuring edges
Catheter stabilization: secures urinary catheters, NG tubes, and drainage lines
Ostomy care: reinforces barrier edges or secures accessory belts
Splint application: lightweight securing of finger splints and orthopedic supports
Home health care: easy for patients or caregivers to apply without special tools

      Usage & Application

      For Dressing Securement:

      1. Cleanse and dry the skin thoroughly around the dressing site
      2. Tear a strip of Transpore to the desired length using the perforations (no scissors needed)
      3. Center the tape over the dressing edge, pressing firmly from the middle outward
      4. Smooth along skin edges to eliminate air pockets and ensure adhesion
      5. For added security, apply a second strip perpendicular to the first

      For IV/Catheter Stabilization:

      1. Position the catheter or tubing at the desired angle on clean, dry skin
      2. Tear a 3-4 inch strip and apply over the catheter hub or tubing
      3. Press firmly without kinking the line or restricting flow
      4. Add a second strip in a chevron pattern for enhanced stability
      5. Check insertion site visibility through the transparent backing

      For Removal:

      1. Support the skin with one hand while gently lifting a tape edge
      2. Pull slowly parallel to the skin surface (not upward) to minimize trauma
      3. Use adhesive remover wipes for patients with fragile skin if needed

      Troubleshooting Tips:

      • If tape doesn't tear cleanly, ensure you're following the perforation lines
      • For highly mobile areas (elbows, knees), apply while joint is in mid-range position
      • In high-moisture environments, allow skin to dry completely before application
