Recommended Ramp Length
Longer is not automatically better. Select the shortest ramp that provides a safe slope for the specific rise and mobility device. As a general product guideline, the manufacturer associates the available lengths with applications ranging from curbs and 1–2 steps through approximately 2–4 steps and selected minivans, vans and SUVs. Always use the incline requirements in the mobility device and ramp owner's manuals.
Usage and Safety Information
Inspect the ramp before every use. Confirm the ramp is fully unfolded, the hinge sections are correctly joined, the top lip is securely positioned, and the bottom transition plates are properly contacting the ground.
Use the ramp only on a stable, level and suitable surface. Secure the ramp as directed by the manufacturer and ensure the mobility device's total loaded weight does not exceed 800 lb.
Never choose a ramp based only on weight capacity. The slope must also be appropriate for the wheelchair or scooter, and the ramp must be long enough for the rise. Never exceed the maximum incline recommended by the mobility-device and ramp manufacturers.
Keep people away from pinch points while unfolding and folding. Do not use the ramp if the deck, hinges, transition plates, handles or other structural components are damaged.
