This non-convex barrier features elastic adhesive that adapts to body contours with 60 mm Click coupling for audible pouch attachment. The cut-to-fit 10-55 mm opening enables precise sizing and two-piece flexibility.

    • Why Elastic Adhesive with Click Coupling

Standard rigid adhesives can lift at edges with body movement, while uncertain pouch attachment causes anxiety. Elastic BodyFit adhesive flexes with your body to maintain seal integrity, and the audible Click coupling confirms secure pouch connection—delivering both reliable adhesion and confident attachment.

      Key Features & Benefits

      • Cut-to-fit 10–55 mm opening enables chair-side customization for wide range of stoma sizes
      • Elastic adhesive (BodyFit Technology™) conforms to body movement and uneven skin contours
      • Non-convex flat plate ideal for protruding or regular stomas on even peristomal planes
      • 60 mm Click coupling provides audible/tactile lock for confident pouch attachment
      • Neutral gray textile cover offers soft, water-repellent, low-rustle finish
      • Two-piece system flexibility allows pouch changes without barrier removal
      • Compatible with all Mio Click 60 mm pouches (drainable, closed, urostomy)
      • Latex-free construction safe for latex-sensitive ostomates
      • Individually wrapped for sterile single-patient use
      • 5 barriers per box convenient packaging for typical wear schedule
      • Conforming adhesive helps reduce edge lift and support longer wear time
      • Swap pouch styles while keeping barrier on for versatility
      • Discreet, clothing-like finish enhances everyday comfort
      • Wide cut range accommodates various stoma sizes with single product
      • Audible click eliminates pouch attachment uncertainty

      Clinical Applications

Ideal for ostomates with:Regular or protruding stomas on relatively flat peristomal planes ✓ Stomas between 10–55 mm requiring customizable cut-to-fit opening ✓ Colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy needing versatile two-piece system ✓ Active lifestyles requiring adhesive that moves with the body ✓ Preference for two-piece systems offering pouch change flexibility ✓ Medium to larger stomas compatible with 60 mm coupling ✓ Need for multiple pouch types (drainable, closed, urostomy) with same barrier ✓ Desire for audible attachment confirmation reducing anxiety about connection ✓ Even peristomal planes where convexity is not needed

      Usage & Application

      Sizing & Preparation:

      • Measure stoma diameter accurately using measuring guide (remeasure periodically as stomas change)
      • Verify stoma size is within 10–55 mm cutting range
      • Add approximately ⅛″ (3mm) clearance around stoma for skin protection
      • Gather supplies: barrier, measuring guide, scissors, pen/marker, skin cleanser, compatible 60 mm Click pouch
      • Clean peristomal skin thoroughly with water only (no soaps with oils or lotions)
      • Pat skin completely dry—moisture prevents proper adhesion
      • If using barrier accessories (rings, paste, strips), have ready before application
      • Warm barrier between hands for 30-60 seconds to increase flexibility

      Cutting the Barrier Opening:

      1. Remove barrier from packaging
      2. Locate cutting guide printed on barrier backing paper
      3. Use measuring guide to determine exact stoma size
      4. Add ⅛″ (3mm) to measurement for clearance
      5. Trace stoma shape plus clearance onto barrier backing paper (10–55 mm range)
      6. For irregular stomas, trace actual shape rather than perfect circle
      7. Cut opening carefully with sharp scissors following traced line
      8. Ensure cut edges are smooth with no jagged points that could irritate skin
      9. For oval or irregular stomas, customize shape as needed
      10. Verify opening size against stoma before removing backing paper

      Understanding BodyFit Technology:

      • Elastic adhesive flexes and adapts to body movement
      • Conforms to individual body contours and uneven skin
      • Helps reduce edge lift from physical activity
      • Maintains seal integrity during sitting, standing, bending
      • Works best when properly warmed before application
      • Provides secure adhesion without rigid stiffness

      Application:

      1. Remove barrier backing paper just before application to prevent drying
      2. Warm prepared barrier between hands for 30-60 seconds
      3. Position yourself comfortably with good view of stoma
      4. Hold barrier with 60 mm coupling facing outward
      5. Center cut opening over stoma—ensure no skin is exposed between stoma and barrier
      6. Apply from bottom up to eliminate air pockets
      7. Press gently against peristomal skin starting at stoma and working outward
      8. Avoid stretching or pulling skin during application
      9. Smooth barrier firmly around entire perimeter
      10. Press hand over entire barrier for 30-60 seconds to activate elastic adhesive
      11. Use body heat by holding hand over barrier for additional 1-2 minutes
      12. Allow BodyFit adhesive to warm and fully conform to body contours
      13. Ensure all edges are fully adhered
      14. Run fingers around 60 mm coupling ring to verify it's clean and ready for pouch

      Attaching Compatible Pouches:

      1. Select desired 60 mm Mio Click pouch (drainable, closed, or urostomy)
      2. Hold pouch with outlet/closure pointing downward
      3. Align pouch coupling ring with barrier coupling ring at 12 o'clock position
      4. Place rings together and press firmly around entire circumference
      5. Listen and feel for audible "click" confirming secure attachment
      6. Run finger around entire 60 mm coupling to verify complete connection
      7. Gently tug on pouch to confirm it's locked in place
      8. Adjust pouch position for comfort if needed
      9. Two-piece flexibility allows you to change pouch types without removing barrier

      Two-Piece System Advantages:

      • Change from drainable to closed pouch for social events
      • Switch to urostomy pouch if using for urinary diversion
      • Replace pouch if damaged without disturbing barrier adhesion
      • Empty and replace drainable pouch multiple times per barrier
      • Typical barrier wear: 3-5 days (change pouches as needed during this time)
      • Reduces frequency of barrier changes, protecting peristomal skin

      Monitoring Throughout Wear:

      • Check barrier edges daily for signs of lifting or loosening
      • Monitor for any output leaking under barrier
      • Typical wear time: 3-5 days depending on output and adhesion
      • Assess peristomal skin condition at each barrier change
      • Watch for erosion around stoma opening (indicates opening may be too large)
      • Note any skin irritation, redness, or breakdown
      • Verify BodyFit adhesive continues to conform to body contours
      • Check 60 mm coupling ring periodically to ensure clean and intact
      • Replace barrier when edges lift, leakage occurs, adhesion weakens, scheduled time reached, coupling damaged, or skin irritation develops

      Changing Pouches (Without Barrier Removal):

      • Hold barrier coupling steady, push down on pouch coupling to release click, peel pouch away
      • Wipe barrier coupling ring clean if needed
      • Apply fresh pouch (same or different type) following attachment steps and listen for click
      • This process can be repeated multiple times during single barrier wear

      Barrier Removal:

      • Remove attached pouch first, then support skin and gently peel barrier away starting at top
      • Use adhesive remover if needed, discard barrier, clean and dry skin thoroughly
      • Inspect skin for irritation, allow to air dry, and remeasure stoma size before new application
