The SenSura Mio Soft Convex Flex Barrier (Cut-to-Fit 15-40 mm, Red, 5/Box) uses elastic adhesive hydrocolloid and soft convexity to seal flush or recessed stomas. Flex coupling replaces the rigid ring for body-adaptive, flexible daily wear.

    • Why Choose Coloplast SenSura Mio Flex Soft Convex Barrier Cut-to-Fit 15–40mm Red

The SenSura Mio Flex Soft Convex barrier serves the user who needs two things simultaneously: soft convexity to improve seal geometry around a flush or mildly retracted stoma, and the flexibility of the Mio Flex 2-piece system to allow pouch changes without disturbing the barrier. Flat Flex barriers are appropriate for well-protruding stomas; when the stoma sits flush or slightly below the skin surface, a flat barrier cannot direct output away from the skin at the peristomal zone and seal failure becomes frequent. Soft convexity addresses this by applying gentle inward pressure at the stoma base — a less aggressive approach than rigid deep convex barriers, appropriate for users with moderately sensitive peristomal skin or mild stoma retraction. The cut-to-fit 15–40mm range provides aperture flexibility for stomas that are still post-operatively evolving in size, or where the user's stoma sits within this range but is not well served by the fixed pre-cut sizes. The Flex adhesive coupling provides the low-profile flexible 2-piece connection that bends with the abdomen rather than creating a rigid junction point. Red coupling size — match exclusively with SenSura Mio Flex Red pouches. Consult a stoma care nurse before using convex products.

      Key Features

✔ Soft convex barrier for improved seal geometry on flush or mildly retracted stomas

✔ Cut-to-fit 15–40mm aperture for accurate sizing across the cutting range

✔ Flex adhesive coupling for low-profile flexible 2-piece connection

✔ Red coupling — compatible with SenSura Mio Flex Red pouches only

✔ 2-piece system allows pouch changes while barrier remains in place

      ✔ 5 per box

      Benefits

✔ Soft convexity improves seal at flush stoma without the pressure of rigid deep convex

✔ Cut-to-fit range accommodates evolving post-operative stoma size and irregular shapes

✔ Flex coupling bends with body movement for comfortable active daily wear

✔ 2-piece format allows independent pouch and barrier change scheduling

✔ Red colour coding ensures correct pouch coupling selection

      Clinical & Typical Applications

✔ Flush or mildly retracted colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy requiring soft convex support

✔ Post-operative stoma management with evolving size within the 15–40mm range

✔ SenSura Mio Flex system users requiring soft convex barrier option

✔ Users transitioning from flat Flex barrier when seal failure indicates convexity need

✔ Peristomal skin that is sensitive to rigid convex pressure requiring gentle convex alternative

      Usage & Care

Confirm soft convexity is clinically appropriate with a stoma care nurse before use. Measure stoma accurately before cutting — aperture should be no more than 3mm larger than stoma diameter. Apply to clean, dry peristomal skin and press firmly from the stoma outward. Attach only compatible SenSura Mio Flex Red pouch to the Red coupling — do not mix coupling sizes. Change the barrier every 3–5 days or when lifting, leaking, or skin changes are observed. Consult a stoma care nurse for wear-time guidance and peristomal skin assessment.
