Hollister New Image CeraPlus convex ostomy skin barrier with ceramide-infused peristomal protection, tape border, cut-to-fit for stomas up to 51 mm, 70 mm flange, and 2-piece system compatibility for flush and retracted stoma management.

    • Why Choose Hollister New Image Convex CeraPlus Skin Barrier

Flat barriers fail on flat stomas — and repeated leakage from an inadequate seal does two things simultaneously: it undermines confidence and it damages peristomal skin. The New Image Convex CeraPlus addresses both problems in a single product. The convex barrier applies gentle inward pressure around the stoma base, encouraging protrusion and restoring the seal geometry that flush and retracted stomas cannot achieve with flat systems. CeraPlus™ ceramide technology addresses the second problem: ceramide is a lipid naturally found in the skin barrier layer, and ceramide-infused barrier adhesive actively supports peristomal skin's moisture balance rather than simply adhering to it. Repeated barrier changes on compromised peristomal skin are a significant source of skin breakdown in long-term ostomy users — CeraPlus is designed to reduce that cumulative damage. The integrated tape border extends wear security at the edges where standard barriers most commonly lift first, and the cut-to-fit opening allows precise aperture sizing for stomas up to 51 mm within the 70 mm flange. Five barriers per box. Compatible with Hollister New Image two-piece pouching systems. Consult a stoma care nurse before using convex products.

      Benefits

✔ Reduces leakage around flush, retracted, or uneven stoma profiles

✔ Ceramide technology supports the skin's natural moisture barrier long-term

✔ Tape border improves edge hold and extends reliable wear duration

✔ Cut-to-fit aperture allows precise sizing to minimise peristomal skin exposure

✔ Improves daily confidence for users managing difficult stoma presentations

      Clinical & Typical Applications

✔ Flush or retracted colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy management

✔ Peristomal skin protection and moisture barrier support in long-term ostomy wear

✔ Users experiencing frequent leakage with flat barrier systems

✔ Sensitive or compromised peristomal skin requiring ceramide barrier support

✔ Patients transitioning to higher-security convex pouching systems

      Usage & Care

Measure stoma accurately before cutting — the aperture should be no more than 3 mm larger than the stoma to minimise peristomal skin exposure. Ensure skin is clean, dry, and free of residue before application. Warm the barrier between hands briefly to activate adhesion. Press firmly around the stoma base for 30–60 seconds; use the tape border to smooth edges against the skin. Change the barrier every 3–5 days or when the barrier begins to lift or leak. Consult a stoma care nurse or ostomy clinician before starting convex products to confirm correct convexity level and fit for your stoma profile.
