This 14 Fr Foley catheter is made from 100% medical-grade silicone for superior biocompatibility and latex-sensitive patients. Polished eyelets ensure smooth insertion while the 10 mL balloon provides secure retention.

    • Why 100% Silicone Construction

Unlike coated catheters, pure silicone offers superior biocompatibility and is completely latex-free for patients with allergies. The transparent material allows visual monitoring while the naturally smooth surface minimizes tissue irritation throughout wear.

      Key Features & Benefits

      • 100% medical-grade silicone construction—completely latex-free and DEHP-free
      • 2-way design with drainage lumen and balloon inflation port for standard indwelling use
      • 10 mL retention balloon ensures secure positioning in the bladder
      • Polished dual drainage eyelets promote consistent urine flow and support comfortable insertion
      • 14 French (14 Fr) size balances patient comfort with adequate drainage capacity
      • Color-coded funnel enables quick size identification in clinical settings
      • Radiopaque stripe allows X-ray visualization for placement confirmation (varies by model)
      • Transparent/translucent material permits visual monitoring of drainage
      • Sterile, single-use design prevents cross-contamination
      • Convenient 10-count box for efficient inventory management
      • Safe for patients with latex allergies or sensitivities
      • Flexible yet durable material conforms comfortably to anatomy
      • Biocompatible silicone reduces risk of allergic reactions and tissue inflammation
      • Clear markings streamline clinical workflows
      • Dependable drainage performance for short- to intermediate-term use

      Clinical Applications

Ideal for patients requiring: ✓ Latex-free catheterization due to allergies or sensitivities ✓ Short- to intermediate-term bladder drainage (typically up to 30 days) ✓ Post-operative urinary management following abdominal, pelvic, or urological surgery ✓ Accurate urine output monitoring in critical care or perioperative settings ✓ Bladder decompression due to urinary retention or obstruction ✓ Patients with history of latex reactions or contact dermatitis ✓ Biocompatible materials for sensitive patients or extended wear ✓ Visual drainage monitoring through transparent catheter material ✓ Medication instillation or bladder irrigation procedures

      Usage & Application

      Sizing & Preparation:

      • Verify 14 Fr size matches physician order and patient needs
      • Confirm 100% silicone latex-free status meets patient requirements
      • Inspect sterile packaging for integrity—discard if compromised
      • Gather all supplies: catheter, sterile gloves, drapes, antiseptic solution, lubricant, prefilled 10 mL sterile water syringe, drainage bag with tubing
      • Test balloon BEFORE insertion: inflate with 10 mL sterile water, inspect for leaks or irregularities, then deflate completely
      • Ensure adequate lighting and patient privacy

      Application:

      1. Perform hand hygiene and explain procedure to patient
      2. Verify patient identity and confirm catheterization order
      3. Position patient appropriately (supine for females, supine or semi-recumbent for males)
      4. Open sterile catheter tray and establish sterile field
      5. Don sterile gloves using aseptic technique
      6. Clean urethral meatus with antiseptic solution per protocol (typically three swipes)
      7. Apply generous amount of sterile water-based lubricant to catheter tip (5-7 inches for males, 2-3 inches for females)
      8. Insert catheter gently using appropriate technique until urine flows
      9. Advance catheter an additional 1-2 inches (to hub) to ensure balloon is fully in bladder
      10. Inflate retention balloon with exactly 10 mL sterile water (never use saline)
      11. Gently pull back on catheter until resistance is felt, confirming balloon engagement at bladder neck
      12. Secure catheter to patient's inner thigh using appropriate securement device to prevent urethral traction
      13. Connect to sterile closed drainage system positioned below bladder level
      14. Document procedure, balloon volume, 100% silicone latex-free status, and initial urine characteristics

      Monitoring the Catheter:

      • Check urine color, clarity, and volume regularly through transparent silicone material
      • Ensure tubing remains kink-free and drainage bag below bladder level
      • Monitor insertion site for signs of irritation, bleeding, or infection
      • Verify balloon remains inflated and catheter secure
      • Assess patient comfort and check for bladder distension
      • Maintain closed drainage system to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) risk
      • Perform catheter care per facility protocol (typically twice daily)
      • Visual monitoring through transparent material allows easy assessment without removal

      Drainage Management:

      • Empty drainage bag when 2/3 full or per facility protocol
      • Use separate, clean collection container for each patient
      • Avoid touching drainage spout to collection container
      • Wipe spout with alcohol swab after emptying
      • Document output volume, color, and characteristics
      • Report abnormal findings (hematuria, cloudiness, sediment, foul odor)
      • Maintain dependent drainage at all times
      • Transparent catheter allows visual inspection of drainage flow

      Catheter Removal:

      1. Verify removal order from physician
      2. Perform hand hygiene and don clean gloves
      3. Disconnect from drainage system
      4. Use syringe to completely deflate balloon (withdraw all 10 mL)
      5. Verify balloon is fully deflated before removal attempt
      6. Ask patient to take deep breath and exhale
      7. Remove catheter gently with steady, smooth motion during exhalation
      8. Inspect catheter tip to ensure it's intact
      9. Dispose per facility biohazard protocol
      10. Monitor patient's first void after removal (document time and amount)
      11. Assess for urinary retention, discomfort, or difficulty voiding
