Soft-convex barrier for flush/retracted stomas with large-capacity drainable pouch. Cut-to-fit opening (13-25 mm) for custom sizing. Integrated filter and secure tail closure.

    • Why Large-Capacity Pouches for Extended Wear

Standard-size ostomy pouches require frequent emptying—often every 2-3 hours for high-output users or those with liquid consistency output. This constant need to find restrooms disrupts work, travel, social activities, and sleep. Large-capacity pouches provide significantly more volume, extending the time between emptyings and reducing daily interruptions. For ileostomy users with naturally higher output, overnight wear without awakening to empty, or anyone seeking longer intervals between bathroom visits, extra capacity transforms ostomy management from a frequent disruption into a manageable routine. The extended pouch length accommodates more output while maintaining a secure seal through the soft convex barrier, which is essential for flush or retracted stomas that are already prone to leakage. This combination of convexity and capacity addresses two common challenges in a single, integrated system.

      Key Features

      • Large-capacity pouch: extended length for higher volume and longer wear times
      • Soft convex barrier: gentle pressure for flush or retracted stomas
      • Cut-to-fit opening: accommodates stoma sizes 13-25 mm for precise fit
      • One-piece design: integrated barrier and pouch for simplified application
      • Integrated deodorizing filter: reduces odor and prevents pouch ballooning
      • Secure tail outlet: locking/fastening mechanism for leak-resistant emptying
      • Quiet, soft-touch fabric: low-noise material for discreet wear
      • Skin-friendly adhesive: gentle formulation for comfortable, secure hold
      • Latex-free construction: safe for latex-sensitive users
      • Box of 10: economical supply for regular users

      Benefits

      • Reduces emptying frequency with extra capacity—fewer bathroom visits
      • Convexity minimizes leaks on flat or uneven abdomens
      • Extends uninterrupted time for work, travel, sleep, and activities
      • Custom sizing protects peristomal skin and prevents output contact
      • Filter maintains pouch flatness and controls odor despite higher volume
      • Quiet fabric won't draw attention even with increased pouch contents
      • Simplifies application with one-piece design—no parts to match

      Clinical Applications

High-output ileostomies: accommodates liquid to paste consistency with frequent flow
Flush or retracted stomas: soft convexity improves seal on challenging profiles
Extended wear needs: longer intervals between emptyings during work or sleep
Overnight use: reduces need to wake for emptying during sleep
Travel situations: fewer bathroom stops during long drives or flights
Workplace convenience: minimizes disruptions during meetings or shifts
Active lifestyles: extra capacity for exercise, hiking, or extended activities
Colostomy with frequent output: accommodates users with looser consistency or higher volume

      Usage & Application

For individuals with colostomies or ileostomies featuring flush or retracted stomas (13-25 mm) who need extra pouch capacity for extended wear between emptyings.

Determining if you need large capacity: Consider large-capacity pouches if you:

      • Empty your current pouch more than 6-8 times daily
      • Have high-output ileostomy (>1000-1500 mL daily)
      • Wake multiple times at night to empty
      • Experience frequent interruptions during work or activities
      • Travel regularly and want fewer bathroom stops
      • Have flush/retracted stoma requiring convex support

      To prepare and apply:

      1. Cleanse the peristomal skin with warm water and pat completely dry
      2. Measure your stoma size using a measuring guide or template
      3. Verify your stoma measurement falls within the 13-25 mm range
      4. Trace the measured size onto the barrier's cut-to-fit opening area
      5. Carefully cut the opening to match your stoma size—cut slightly larger (1-2 mm) than the stoma
      6. Remove the backing paper from the barrier
      7. Warm the entire one-piece system between your hands for 30-60 seconds to improve adhesion
      8. Center the cut opening over your stoma
      9. Apply gentle, firm pressure to the convex area, pressing the barrier against your abdomen
      10. Press outward from the stoma to eliminate air pockets and ensure complete adhesion
      11. Hold pressure for 30-60 seconds

      To empty the pouch:

      1. Empty when pouch is 1/3 to 1/2 full to prevent excess weight on barrier
      2. Sit on toilet or position over toilet bowl
      3. Open the tail closure by releasing the locking/fastening mechanism
      4. Drain contents into toilet
      5. Wipe the inside of the tail clean with toilet paper
      6. Close and secure the tail closure firmly

Filter maintenance: The integrated filter works automatically. Despite the larger capacity, the filter continues to vent gas effectively. If the filter becomes wet or clogged, replace the entire system.

Wear time: Change the one-piece system when you notice barrier erosion, leakage, itching, burning sensations, or per your routine schedule. Even with large capacity, monitor the barrier for signs of compromise.

Important capacity management: While large-capacity pouches hold more volume, avoid letting them become too full:

      • Empty when 1/3 to 1/2 full to prevent weight strain on barrier adhesion
      • Excessive weight can pull on the barrier and cause premature failure
      • For overnight wear, empty before bed even if not completely full

Removal: Gently peel the one-piece system from top to bottom while supporting your skin. Use adhesive remover if needed to prevent skin trauma.

Convexity note: Soft convex barriers apply gentle pressure to the peristomal area. If you experience excessive discomfort, skin blanching, or marks that don't fade within 30 minutes after removal, consult your ostomy nurse.
