Bard Flip-Flo Catheter Valve — 20 per box, flip-open valve for controlled scheduled bladder emptying without continuous bag drainage, supporting discreet ambulatory catheter management for clinically appropriate indwelling catheter users.
Loading…
Continuous drainage bags — whether leg bags or bedside bags — are the standard catheter drainage system because they require no active patient or caregiver involvement. However, for appropriate patients, catheter valves offer a clinically meaningful alternative: the bladder fills normally and is emptied at scheduled intervals by opening the valve, more closely approximating normal voiding physiology. Catheter valves are associated with improved bladder capacity preservation and reduced symptomatic UTI rates compared with continuous drainage in studies of long-term catheter users, because the intermittent filling cycle maintains bladder tone and reduces the stagnant drainage environment that continuous-bag drainage creates. The practical advantages are significant for ambulatory users: no external drainage bag visible under clothing, greater freedom of movement, and the ability to use toilets normally for drainage. The Flip-Flo design is simple — the valve flips open for drainage and closed afterward — accessible for patients with limited dexterity when correctly positioned. Not appropriate for all indwelling catheter users — patient assessment for adequate bladder capacity, cognitive ability, and dexterity is required before transitioning from bag to valve drainage. Nighttime connection to a drainage bag is typically required. 20 per box.

✔ Can be connected to a drainage bag when required (overnight or when indicated)
✔ 20 valves per box — clinical and home supply quantity
✔ Confirm catheter compatibility and sterility by exact SKU
✔ Supports bladder capacity preservation through intermittent fill-and-empty cycle
✔ Eliminates visible continuous drainage bag for ambulatory daily use
✔ Closer to normal voiding physiology than continuous bag drainage
✔ Simple flip operation accessible for patients with mild dexterity limitations
✔ 20-count box provides practical supply for regular catheter management schedules
✔ Long-term indwelling catheter users assessed as suitable for valve drainage
✔ Ambulatory catheter users wanting elimination of visible leg bag during daily activity
✔ Bladder capacity preservation programme for long-term catheter users
✔ Catheter management in appropriate patients with adequate cognitive and manual function
✔ Transitional valve drainage from continuous bag drainage under healthcare supervision
Catheter valve use requires prior clinical assessment — patient must have adequate bladder sensation or a scheduled emptying protocol, sufficient hand and cognitive function to operate the valve, and no contraindications to valve drainage including urinary retention risk. Open the valve to drain at scheduled intervals — typically every 3–4 hours or as directed by a healthcare provider. Connect to an overnight drainage bag for nighttime use. Replace the valve at the recommended interval per healthcare provider instruction. Maintain hygiene at the catheter-valve connection. Follow the healthcare provider's catheter management plan throughout valve use.

Very welcoming and informative. We went in to rent a Walker for my mom to see if she would use it. They had no rentals left so he gave us a brand new one on rental. Highly recommend this company for all your ADL needs.
