pH-balanced, isotonic saline-based formula cleanses acute and chronic wounds. No-rinse design minimizes wound bed disruption. Spray or stream delivery for targeted irrigation.

    • Why Isotonic, No-Rinse Wound Cleansers

Traditional wound cleansing with tap water or harsh antiseptics can damage delicate granulation tissue, disrupt the wound's natural pH balance, and introduce hypotonic or hypertonic solutions that stress healing cells. Isotonic saline-based cleansers match the body's natural fluid environment, cleansing debris and exudate without causing cellular stress or osmotic damage. The no-rinse formulation eliminates the need for follow-up rinsing that can introduce contaminants or further disturb the wound bed. Spray or stream delivery provides controlled irrigation pressure to loosen and flush away slough, dried exudate, and contaminants without aggressive mechanical scrubbing that damages fragile new tissue. For healthcare providers managing acute wounds, chronic ulcers, or post-operative sites, isotonic no-rinse cleansers offer effective cleansing while supporting the wound's natural healing progression.

      Usage & Application

For healthcare professionals and trained caregivers performing wound care in hospital, long-term care, or home healthcare settings.

      General wound cleansing procedure:

      1. Gather supplies: Sea-Clens wound cleanser, clean/sterile gloves, gauze or wound dressings, waste disposal
      2. Perform hand hygiene and don appropriate gloves
      3. Remove existing wound dressing and dispose in appropriate receptacle
      4. Inspect wound for signs of infection, deterioration, or healing progress
      5. Remove visible debris or loosely adherent material with gauze if needed
      6. Hold Sea-Clens bottle 4-6 inches from wound surface
      7. For spray delivery: Adjust nozzle to spray setting and apply over entire wound bed and peri-wound area
      8. For stream delivery: Adjust nozzle to stream setting for more focused irrigation of specific areas
      9. Continue irrigating until desired level of cleanliness achieved—debris, exudate, and slough should be flushed away
      10. Pat peri-wound skin dry with gauze (avoid rubbing wound bed)
      11. As a no-rinse formula, proceed directly to dressing application—no additional rinsing required
      12. Apply appropriate wound dressing per protocol
      13. Dispose of waste and perform hand hygiene

      Irrigation pressure guidance:

      • Use gentle spray for fragile, granulating tissue
      • Use focused stream for removing adherent debris or slough
      • Adjust distance from wound to control pressure (closer = higher pressure, further = lower pressure)
      • Avoid excessive pressure that might damage new tissue growth

Frequency: Use during each dressing change or per facility wound care protocol. Safe for repeated daily use as needed.

Aseptic technique: While the product bottle is non-sterile, maintain aseptic technique during wound care by:

      • Using clean/sterile gloves
      • Avoiding contact between bottle nozzle and wound surface
      • Following facility infection control protocols

      Important notes:

      • This is a wound cleanser for routine irrigation and debris removal
      • NOT a substitute for antimicrobial agents when infection control is needed
      • NOT a substitute for surgical irrigation in contaminated or deep wounds
      • Monitor wounds according to institutional policy and document changes
      • Consult wound care specialist for non-healing or deteriorating wounds

Compatible with: All standard wound dressings, including gauze, foam, hydrocolloid, transparent films, and advanced wound care products.
