Usage & Application

Sizing & Preparation:

• Measure current stoma diameter to ensure 48 mm ring is appropriate size
• Clean peristomal skin thoroughly with water (no soap residue)
• Pat skin completely dry—moisture interferes with adhesion
• Warm barrier ring between hands for 30-60 seconds to increase pliability
• Assess peristomal skin for any irregularities, folds, or valleys requiring extra support
• Have barrier/pouch system ready for immediate application after ring placement

Application:

1. Remove CeraRing from protective packaging
2. Warm ring between palms for 30-60 seconds to soften hydrocolloid
3. Determine if ring needs stretching or trimming:
   • To stretch: Gently pull ring to enlarge opening for larger stomas
   • To trim: Use clean scissors to cut smaller opening if needed
   • Ring can be shaped into oval if stoma is not perfectly round
4. Choose application method:
   • Method A: Place ring directly on clean, dry peristomal skin around stoma
   • Method B: Attach ring to barrier opening before applying system
5. Position ring so it surrounds stoma with no gaps
6. Press and mold ring into any skin creases, folds, or uneven areas
7. Use fingertips to firmly press ring into all contours for 30-60 seconds
8. Apply body heat by holding hand over ring for additional adhesion
9. If deeper valleys exist, consider stacking second ring or combining with paste
10. Apply ostomy barrier/pouch system over ring as usual
11. Press entire barrier firmly for complete adhesion
12. Run fingers around perimeter to ensure secure seal
