The Kangaroo Gastrostomy Feeding Tube (18 Fr) is a medical-grade silicone G-tube with balloon retention and a Y-port for feeding, flushing, and medication access. Delivers secure long-term enteral nutrition access directly into the stomach.

    • Why Choose the Kangaroo Gastrostomy Feeding Tube?

For patients who require ongoing enteral nutritional support and cannot safely eat or swallow, a reliable, well-constructed gastrostomy tube is a critical component of daily care. The Kangaroo Gastrostomy Feeding Tube is designed to provide a secure, comfortable, and durable direct-access enteral feeding solution. Medical-grade silicone construction offers the flexibility and biocompatibility needed for long-term placement, while the balloon retention mechanism provides consistent, stable positioning within the stomach without migration or dislodgement during daily activity. The Y-port design gives caregivers and clinicians simultaneous access for nutritional formula delivery, medication administration, and flushing — without requiring the tube to be changed or disconnected for each function. The replaceable Y-port extends the tube's functional lifespan. Suitable for home care, hospital, and long-term care environments requiring ongoing gastric feeding access.

      Key Features

      • 18 French (Fr) tube size for standard adult gastrostomy feeding
      • Medical-grade silicone construction for comfort, flexibility, and long-term durability
      • Balloon retention (approx. 20 mL) for stable, secure placement within the stomach
      • Y-port design provides simultaneous access for feeding, medication administration, and flushing
      • Replaceable Y-port extends the operational life of the tube
      • Safe enteral connections reduce the risk of IV misconnection
      • Designed for long-term enteral feeding via gastrostomy site (G-tube placement)

      Benefits

      • Provides direct, reliable gastric access for long-term enteral nutritional delivery
      • Silicone construction minimises tissue irritation during extended placement
      • Balloon retention reduces the risk of tube dislodgement during daily activity
      • Y-port allows feeding, flushing, and medication delivery without changing the tube
      • Replaceable Y-port reduces overall replacement frequency and cost
      • Safe enteral connector design prevents potentially dangerous IV line misconnections

      Clinical & Typical Applications

Patients with dysphagia, neurological conditions, or head and neck cancer requiring long-term enteral nutrition via gastrostomy

Post-operative patients who have undergone oesophageal, gastric, or neurological surgery and require ongoing tube feeding support

Critically ill patients transitioning from nasogastric to gastrostomy feeding for extended nutritional support

Paediatric and adult patients in long-term care or home care settings requiring permanent or semi-permanent gastric feeding access

Home enteral feeding patients managed by community nurses or home care providers requiring a durable, multi-function G-tube

Rehabilitation patients with progressive neurological conditions requiring reliable ongoing nutritional access

      Usage & Care

Placement: This tube must be placed and confirmed by a qualified clinician (physician or radiologist) using appropriate technique. Do not self-insert or attempt to reinsert a displaced tube without clinical assessment.

Balloon Inflation: Inflate the retention balloon with sterile water (not air) to approximately 20 mL as directed. Check balloon volume regularly and deflate for tube changes as instructed.

Y-Port Use: Connect formula, flush syringes, or medication syringes to the appropriate Y-port lumen. Use the dedicated lumen for each function and flush before and after medication delivery.

Flushing: Flush the tube with sterile water before and after feeding and medication administration to maintain tube patency. Use the volume and frequency recommended by a clinical dietitian or nurse.

Y-Port Replacement: Replace the Y-port as directed by the manufacturer or when wear is evident. Do not continue using a damaged or leaking Y-port.

Skin Care: Clean the stoma site daily with mild soap and water. Inspect for redness, leakage, or signs of infection. Report changes to a clinician promptly.

Note: Gastrostomy tube management requires ongoing clinical supervision. Follow the care plan and instructions provided by the treating clinician or stoma/enteral nurse.
