User-height ranges are general fitting guidance only. Final suitability depends on leg length, knee position, balance, upper-body strength, transfer ability, injury restrictions, and the recommendations of the treating healthcare professional.

      Important Fit and Suitability Information

A knee scooter is not appropriate for every lower-leg injury or every user. The user must be able to safely balance on the unaffected leg, steer with both hands, control the scooter, transfer on and off, and maintain the injured side in the position directed by the treating healthcare professional.

Confirm that knee flexion, cast or boot size, knee-platform height, handle height, and right- or left-leg platform position are suitable before use. Users with poor balance, significant weakness, bilateral lower-limb limitations, or difficulty operating the brake may require a different mobility device.

Why Choose the Roscoe Knee Scooter?

Crutches require substantial upper-body strength and may be difficult to use for extended periods. The Roscoe Knee Scooter provides a padded platform for the affected side while the user propels the scooter with the unaffected foot, helping support mobility during an approved non-weight-bearing recovery plan.

The offset aluminum platform post can be repositioned for right- or left-leg use without tools. Its split, padded knee cushion is contoured and resistant to slipping and fluids, while the foldable steering column, locking hand brake, storage basket, and 8-inch wheels support everyday indoor mobility and carefully selected outdoor use.

      Usage and Safety

Use the knee scooter only after a healthcare professional has confirmed that knee-scooter mobility and the required knee position are appropriate for the injury, surgery, cast, brace, or walking boot.

Place the affected knee securely on the centre of the platform. Keep both hands on the handlebars while moving, propel slowly with the unaffected foot, look ahead for hazards, and practise steering, slowing, stopping, turning, and parking in a clear indoor area before regular use.

All four wheels must remain in contact with the floor or ground. Do not use the scooter to pull yourself up, carry a passenger, sit on the knee platform, tow another object, or exceed the 350 lb combined capacity.

Avoid stairs, escalators, steep slopes, curbs, streets, pool areas, mud, ice, puddles, loose sand, gravel, wet leaves, soft ground, and rough or uneven surfaces. Move slowly enough to maintain control and stop safely.

      • Do not lift by the basket, knee cushion, brake cable, or handlebars
      • Store indoors in a dry area away from extreme heat, cold, and moisture

      Frequently Asked Questions

      What does “8-hole” mean?

It refers to the eight-hole height-adjustment stem used to position the knee platform. It does not mean the padded knee platform has eight holes. The platform itself measures 7 × 14 inches.

Can it be adjusted for either leg?

Yes. The offset aluminum platform post can be adjusted for right- or left-leg use. Confirm that all pins, clamps, and fasteners are secured after repositioning.

What user heights can the scooter accommodate?

The manufacturer lists a general user-height range of approximately 4 ft. 11 in. to 6 ft. 6 in. Correct fit also depends on leg length, knee position, handle reach, injury restrictions, and balance.

      Is the basket included?

The ROS-KSB configuration is commonly supplied with a removable front wire basket. Confirm the basket and mounting hardware are included with the exact unit before delivery.

Can the knee scooter be used outdoors?

It may be used on suitable, firm, level outdoor pathways. Avoid gravel, sand, mud, ice, snow, puddles, wet leaves, steep slopes, curbs, rough ground, and other surfaces that can reduce traction or stability.
